  • What's your first memory of London? Arriving at Waterloo Station on my own on the 4th of January 1956, aged nineteen, having left Capetown, South Africa, where I was born and bred in Johannesburg, by ship for the 14 day journey to Southampton docks. I took a taxi to Earls Court where I stayed in a bed and breakfast hotel.

  • What's been your most memorable night out in London? Standing between Zac Goldsmith and Sadiq Khan at City Hall on the night of the 6th of May 2016, for the London mayoral election result. A night to remember
