Londoner #395 | La'shay - finding freedom through poetry: La'shay’s story with ADHD
La’shay discovered her voice through poetry, finding confidence and freedom in expressing herself. Diagnosed with ADHD, she once feared being seen as different, but writing became her way to share her feelings with honesty and pride. Inspired by spoken word, La’shay began writing about joy, identity, and living with ADHD. Encouraged by a teacher to perform her work, she realised her words could inspire others. Through poetry, La’shay transforms challenges into strength, showing that creativity can empower and connect us all. This film is part of a SEND series, funded by Wandsworth Council as part of the Liberty Festival and London Borough of Culture.
