LOOKING AFTER LONDON: THE CITY’S CARERS
BY CHOCOLATE FILMS
‘Looking After London’ is a chance to meet the carers of London -the Londoners who give their time to care for our city and the people in it. The films look at the different reasons why some people focus on caring, and the ways in which people can care for something, somewhere or someone. From befriending the elderly, to hosting homeless refugees, to looking after London’s wildlife, this season celebrates the characters who call the city their home and care for their community.
‘LOOKING AFTER LONDON’ IN CINEMAS
The ‘Looking after London’ films are available as a cinema presentation with rare archive footage of London’s caring community. They have been screened with Q and As from the Londoners at cinemas such as the Lexi in Kensal Rise, and the Hackney Picturehouse. This screening programme is partnered with the BFI’s ‘Britain on Film’ season, supported by Film Hub London.

CHOCOLATE FILMS 🍫📽 AND LOOKING AFTER LONDON
The films in the Looking After London season were created by Chocolate Films London’s social enterprise video production company. A community-focused ethos is at the heart of everything that Chocolate Films does. It channels profits into a large scale workshops programme that empowers children and young people to produce their own video content. And through projects like 1000 Londoners, they build a powerful, shared portrait of London life—authentic, relatable, and deeply human.
