Our Wandsworth – weekend 2!
Weekend 2 of ‘Our Wandsworth’ was another great success! Word has gone out about some great creative activity taking place in Southside shopping centre in Wandsworth. It is fair to say that our 1000 Londoners project is well and truly launched! The animation studio is certainly a favourite with the younger members of the public, whilst the Time-lapse booth seemed to engage various ages and remind adults of how it was to be a child. One participant quoted that the time-lapse booth made him “feel like a big kid again!” Creativity is so much fun!
Over the second weekend, we interacted with lots of people who consider themselves Londoners from a young Londoner who you may have spotted in a Sainsbury’s advert to a muslim TV Network producer and historian! And as usual, the stop-motion animation station was hugely popular with the little ones passing through.
We’re only around Southside shopping centre for one more weekend – Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, 10am-1pm. Come and be part of the Wandsworth Arts Festival 2013 and tell us your Wandsworth and Londoner stories – and you may be in with a chance to have your digital portrait made by one of the Chocolate Films team for the 1000 Londoners website, due to launch in January 2014.
We are flying through the Our Wandsworth popup media studio. Can’t believe 4 out of the 6 sessions have been done already! But during our time, set-up in our usual spot (just opposite Waitrose), we have built up a bit of a residency – one we will definitely be sad to leave. For the last time in Soutside shopping centre (for now!), come and get talking and interactive with us!
