Donald runs a furniture shop in Battersea with his partner Gill and three very bouncy springer spaniels – although, controversially, only one favourite!

  • What's your first memory of London? My first memory of London was Soho. one of my oldest friends in London took me there my first day 2001 and the August sun was so hot!
  • What do you miss when you're away from London? Being in my Karman Ghia and flying around the West End with the dogs in the back of my car!
  • What's your favourite neighbourhood? Dulwich East and West It's where I walk the dogs on the weekend Sydenham woods
  • What's your favourite building? The Iconic Gherkin building. It's amazing!
  • What's your ideal day out in London? Going to the V & A for an mid day exhibit, then lunch in the West End and shopping Soho. with my Partner Gill and the dogs.
  • What's your ideal night out in London? Hanging out in Soho at the Wellington Pub with Gill and my good friend Hercules.
  • What's your most hated building? Any 70's tower blocks!
  • What's the best view in London? From the top of Herne Hill Ruskin park you can see the every major land mark from there
  • What's your favourite open space? Sydenham woods Dulwich. It's like a forest in the middle of the city
  • What's your favourite bar, pub or restaurant? Favourite restaurant at present is the Naughty Piglets Brixton owned by a British chef with his French wife. Great food!
  • What's the most interesting shop? Stumper & Fielding Portobello Road Fabulous tweeds!
  • What's your favourite place to hang out? Franks Cafe ( Roof top bar Peckham) during the summer, & or Effra Social Club Brixton
  • What's been your most memorable night out in London? Shadow Loung 2001 Meeting and having drinks with Alexander McQueen and Phillip Tracey and bumping into Boy George!
  • How would you like to spend your ideal day off in London? A walk in Sydenham woods with Gill and the dogs and then lunch in the Black dog vauxhall with the dogs
  • Where would you take someone visiting from out of town? The west end from Portobello Road to the West End and drinks at the Kit Kemp hotel Soho
  • What's the worst journey you've had to make in London? Holland Park to Camberwell. I use to commute to visit Gill in Camberwell There's no straight route!
  • What's your personal London landmark? Seven dials Covent Garden that's one of my fondest memories was having lunch there with my mum on her many visits.

  • What's your favourite London film, book or documentary? Guy Ritchie "Lock stock and two smoking barrels!'
  • If you could travel to any time period in London, past or future, where would you go? Future! Soho It's been at the fore front on fashion and art since the early sixties and still manages not only to be relevant but current!
  • For you, who is the ultimate Londoner? Vivian Westwood Uncompromising and brilliant!
